Privacy Policy

The short version: your business profile, priorities, check-ins and notes live on your own device. Accounts are optional — if you create one, your planner is backed up to our servers so it can sync across devices, and deleting your account deletes that backup. There are still no ads, no trackers and no analytics. When you talk to the coach, your message and the relevant context are sent to our AI provider only to generate that reply — they are not used to train models and are not kept as a profile about you.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter is saved in your device's local app storage: your first name, your business name and type, what you own the business for, your priorities, daily check-ins, commitments, and your scorecard history. If you never create an account, we do not have a copy of any of it, and it is deleted when you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app.

If you create an account

Accounts are optional, though the AI features (the coach, reframing, priority drafting) require one. When you sign up we store your email address, the name you choose to give us, and a hashed version of your password. The hash is one-way — we cannot read your password and never store it in plain text. Signing in sets a single cookie whose only job is keeping you signed in; it is not used for tracking. If you forget your password, we email you a reset link that expires after 30 minutes, delivered by a transactional email service (Resend).

Cloud backup and sync

While you are signed in, the app automatically backs up your planner to our database so it survives a lost phone and syncs between your devices. The backup contains what you see in the app: your profile, priorities, weekly actions, commitments, daily check-ins, scorecard metrics, your delegation list, and your coach conversation history. It is sent over an encrypted connection and stored in a Postgres database hosted by Neon. It is kept only so we can show it back to you — and only until you delete your account, which deletes the backup with it.

Purchases

The iOS app is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card or payment details. To unlock your purchase on the web, the app sends its App Store receipt to Apple for validation, and we then store a cryptographic fingerprint (hash) of that receipt on your account so a single purchase can't be reused to unlock unlimited accounts. We do not keep the receipt itself.

What happens when you use the coach

The coach is powered by a third-party AI service (Anthropic's Claude API). When you send a message, that message plus the relevant slice of your own context — such as your first name, business name, current priorities and open commitments — is sent to that service so it can write a useful reply. It is processed to produce your answer and is not used to train their models. Your conversation history lives on your device and, when you are signed in, in your cloud backup — it is used for nothing except showing you your own chat.

Feedback you send us

If you use the feedback form, we keep your message — and your email, if you share it or are signed in — so a real person can read it, reply, and act on it. Feedback may also get an instant AI-drafted first response, generated the same way as a coach reply.

What we do not do

No advertising, advertising IDs or third-party tracking SDKs.
No analytics profiles tied to you.
No selling or renting of your information — ever.
No plain-text passwords — only one-way hashes.
No access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or files.

Your rights

Without an account, your information lives only on your device and you control it directly: edit it in the app, or remove all of it by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling. With an account, "Erase data on this device" in Settings clears the local copy but leaves your backup in place. "Delete account" in Settings permanently deletes your account, your cloud backup and your receipt record, immediately. If you can't sign in, email rockpros@gmail.com from your account email and we will delete them within 30 days. Feedback messages you sent are kept so we don't lose bug history, but they are unlinked from the deleted account.

Children

Owner's Hour is built for business owners and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

The coach gives practical business guidance, not legal, tax, accounting or medical advice. For decisions in those areas, please also talk to a qualified professional.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date. An earlier version of this policy promised that if the app ever stored your data on our servers, we would say so here — this update is that disclosure: optional accounts, cloud backup and purchase records are described above. If what we store changes again, we will update this page and the app store's privacy details before that version ships.
